Whatโ€™s Happening?

OpSci, Foresight Institute, and the Smart Contract Research Forum (SCRF) have joined forces to coordinate and organize a full line up for #buidlweek (Feb 11th - 17th) in Denver. The main event with keynote speakers and hackathon awards will follow #buidlweek (Feb 18-21st), along with an #ethdenver sponsored mountain retreat in Breckenridge, CO.

The landing page for [email protected] events and programming can be found on the OpSci Notion. Speakers and travel grant awardees will be notified next week after we finalize the venue details with the event stewards.

Speakers and hack-a-thon participants are encouraged to attend the community call on Tuesday, February 1st, to share their Project Development plans.

Here are a few examples from on-going OpSci Projects:

DeSci Discussion Topic

This monthโ€™s open conversation thread is all about scientific identity:

How do we transcend legacy academic credentials in Web3?

In other words, how do we move beyond academic credentials issued by legacy institutions, such as the PhD, to address problems of inequity, elitism, unrecognized contributions, misaligned incentives, and distorted perceptions of quality or expertise?

The OpSci community has begun discussing the introduction of an Open Science DID standard that aggregates academic activity from Web 2.0 and mints verifiable proof of contribution as an interactive NFT profile page.
